Welcome to the Girard Alliance Church

Thank you for visiting the Girard Alliance Church website! How far we have come from the humble beginnings of the church in the mid-twenties when several enthusiastic college students began holding Sunday School for children of the community.

That led to meetings in a bakery on Chestnut and the construction of the first building on our current site with discarded street bricks from Route 20 in Conneaut and “the wall” from Wall Street in Girard. The newest building was completed in January, 1998. But, the story of this church is not about the buildings as much as it is about people who love each other and are willing to make new friends and welcome the many visitors who come through our doors.

This site will give you a snapshot of our church life, but our sincere hope and prayer is that your stop here will encourage you to visit us in person at one of our services. It is truly a place of love, hope and joy as we worship God and explore His truth, the Bible. I look forward to shaking YOUR hand someday.

WHO... we are   WHAT... we do   HOW... to get involved

Our Mission Statement

Our mission as a Christian & Missionary Alliance Church is to obey Christ’s Great Commission by helping children, teens and adults come to know, follow and worship Jesus Christ as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer and Coming King.

The Alliance (C&MA) is a light-bearing, Jesus-centered missions and church-planting movement with the deeper life at its heart.

Rather than just a denomination intent on building its own kingdom, we’re a people who “go.”

Great Commission Ministries

Ministry. In its simplest form it means reaching out to meet another’s need. Jesus’ response to the question, “[What] is the greatest commandment…” informs our ministry.

…Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind…And the second is…love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:37-39)

As Jesus’ love transforms us, we are compelled to share His healing love with our neighbors. Alliance Great Commission Ministries demonstrate how we share the practical message of Christ’s love with the marginalized, the poor, the wounded, and the sick both at home and around the world.

Get Involved

For over 120 years Alliance people have been committed to the centrality and sufficiency of Jesus Christ. His sacrifice and mercy shown to all is the model we follow in order to complete his Great Commission. He has called each and every one of us to follow him wherever he leads. So what does following Jesus look like to a world that is in turmoil?

The prophet Micah clearly states, He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. In the Alliance, we feel that is best shown through prayer, stewardship, and service
